TREAT YOURSELF & DO YOUR BODY GOOD MASSAGE AT HEAL U
Massage Therapy Johnson CityMassage
Massages at Heal U are different by design.
You already know that massages are where it’s at for relaxation – & we’re ALL on board with being pampered as often as humanly possible.
But there’s a lot more to this modality when it comes to your holistic wellness. Let’s get into it.
The Medical Benefits of Massage
Stress Reduction
For the majority of our clients, we can trace their issues back to chronic stress.
Chronic stress = high levels of cortisol in the body.
When we’re able to decrease stress & cortisol in your body, we’re able to increase immune function.
Win win.
Mental Health Support
We’ve seen massage make a positive impact on depression, anxiety, & seasonal affective disorder – improving both your mood & energy levels in incredible ways.
Pain Reduction
If you have a lot of musculoskeletal pain, we recommend massage to release those muscles & tag team your wellness while we work with you on integrating an anti-inflammatory diet.
Digestive Issues Improvement
If you deal with digestive issues, we have a massage therapist who is familiar with abdominal massage and we may recommend sessions as part of your treatment plan.
Digestive massage can work on your abdomen as more of a medical-based treatment.
Lymphatic System Improvement
Lymphatic massage is its own special category & we use it a lot with clients who struggle with their natural detoxification process.
Lymphatic massage allows our therapists to follow the lymph system around your body & push metabolic waste or toxins through your lymphatic system & into your kidneys & liver to be excreted – this is especially important if you have poor circulation.
Prenatal Support
Our expert massage therapists also offer prenatal massage. Any mama can attest that there’s typically a significant amount of pressure & tension during pregnancy on your pelvic & back muscles. Prenatal massage can be very beneficial in alleviating this mama-specific tension!
Trauma Support
“Massage is particularly relevant to trauma treatment because traumatized individuals often suffer from hyper-arousal & hyper-vigilance. In a state of stress & tension, their muscles may be constricted, & their bodies flooded with cortisol, a stress hormone that can be harmful with long-term exposure. Massage therapy has been shown to decrease cortisol levels while increasing hormones (serotonin & dopamine) associated with elevated mood.” (Field, Hernandez-Reif, Diego, Schanberg, & Kuhn, 2005)
*Note: While massage therapy is a powerful tool in trauma recovery, we do not have specifically trauma-trained massage therapists at this time. However, our massage therapists are excellent at listening to your needs & will meet you exactly where you are.

Your Unique Wellness Plan & Massage
We’ve seen over & over that when our clients incorporate massage into their treatment plans, they feel better & get better faster.
But what your body needs from a massage each time we see you is different.
Our massage therapists know this – we only hire the best & support them in being the best – which is exactly why you can expect a tailored-to-you massage each time we see you that supports your unique wellness plan & what your body needs that very day.
Tears of joy. We know.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does pricing work?
There is one rate for a 60 minute massage & one rate for a 90 minute massage, regardless of the type of massage you receive – & that’s very much by design.
We don’t believe it’s fair for you to have to make concessions on what your body needs by having you pay more or less for a Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, or any other combination of massage techniques.
Our prices are all-inclusive. This means that you can expect your massage therapist to create the massage that you actually need each & every time.
